The owners of this historic home in Weston Mass. wanted a better connection between the house and the large back yard. The yard is a beautiful field bracketed by stone walls. The back yard kitchen, backed up by the stone fountain created that link and also provided a buffer between the parking area and the outdoor living space.  The kitchen, which is next to a pool, is connected to the fountain patio area by gently descending terraced steps.
