WINNER 2006 COTY SILVER AWARD FOR EXTERIOR RENOVATION

S+H Construction, Inc. of Cambridge, Massachusetts, one of the Greater Boston area's premier residential renovation and custom home building companies, is pleased to announce their winning of the 2006 Eastern Massachusetts Contractor of the Year (COTY) Silver Award under the "Exterior Renovation" category. The winning project - a porte cochere addition to a historic home in Wellesley - was announced at the November 3rd ceremony. The COTY awards are sponsored the Eastern Massachusetts chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).

The annual Eastern Massachusetts COTY awards recognize the most exceptional remodeling projects and the companies that built them. This competition is widely considered the premier competition of its kind in the industry. An impartial panel of judges chose the winners based on each entrant's "Before and After" photography and scope of the project. Judging was based on problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty, and entry presentation.

A porte cochere is a design element that dates back to European palaces and other grand buildings, but was popularized in the late 1800s for many homes in the area. The workmanship of our team to recreate what is really a timeless piece of architecture was quite extraordinary. We're proud to be acknowledged by our peers for this project."
