Located on a beautiful lot on Belmont Hill, this 5,900 square foot home was designed with a steel frame and large areas of custom-made windows and doors from Dynamic™. Excavation of the basement area resulted in the relocation of an underground stream, which now is partially used for irrigation. This green home is essentially off the power grid for heating and air conditioning, as we installed a geothermal well. Beautiful red cedar vertical siding was installed at the exterior, and the flat roofs are protected by Sarnafil™ roofing with stone ballast. One roof features custom skylights over an orangerie, as well as a large roof deck. Another roof features a hot tub. Staircases were fabricated from custom architectural steel and cables. The heating is all in-floor radiant, and the flooring at various locations is reclaimed heart pine, slate, tile, or cork. A screen porch faces a pond and waterfall, which were rebuilt as part of the extensive site work and landscaping. The adjacent new garage and carport closely match the design of the home. Project was designed by Mary Ann Thompson Architects.

This project was recently highlighted in Design New England read about it here.
