S + H first worked on this house on Avon Hill in Cambridge in 1996, when we added many exterior details to what was then a plain facade. Built-in copper lined gutters, new siding, red cedar trim including eaves, quoins, transition bands, and water tables were added, as well as a new front entry addition. Various other work continued over the next few years, including the conversion of the basement into a family room. In 2005, we began a complete renovation of the interior of the house, which included all new systems, fully integrated "smart house" technology, in-floor radiant heat, and high-velocity air conditioning. Serpentine walls, curved staircases, interior and exterior waterfalls, etched glass, and a large wine cellar and presentation room are a few of this home’s many significant features. Interestingly, there is very little interior trim work – for instance, there are no baseboards, the plaster goes right to the floor. This project was completed in eight months.

This project was recently highlighted in the Boston Globe read about it here.
