S+H Construction is a good fit for homeowners planning high-quality residential work in Greater Boston and beyond. Our work includes renovations, additions, custom homes, historic restorations, kitchen and bath renovations, basement waterproofing, sitework, hardscaping, and smaller residential projects through Small Works + Home Management.
Contact us when you’re defining the scope, reviewing plans, or assembling the right project team. If you already have drawings or specifications, we can review them with you. If you’re earlier in the process, we can help you understand the next steps before construction can begin.
Bring any drawings, inspiration images, surveys, inspection reports, photos, wish lists, and known constraints. It also helps to share what’s driving the project, what isn’t working in the home now, and any timing, access, or decision-making concerns we should understand early.
No. You don’t always need finished plans before the first conversation. S+H works closely with architects, designers, and engineers throughout the planning and construction process. If you’ve already hired an architect, sharing available plans or specifications can help us give clearer guidance, but we’re happy to talk with you before those documents are in place.
Before construction starts, discuss scope, plans, site conditions, permitting, schedule, material selections, communication, billing, change orders, access, site protection, and warranty coverage. These conversations help set expectations before crews, trade partners, and materials are in motion.
We review the available plans, site conditions, goals, and known constraints before developing estimating information. As the work becomes more defined, we gather trade input and provide more detailed budget guidance. Our open-book approach gives homeowners visibility into costs, invoices, subcontractor pricing, materials, and approved changes.
Each project is supported by an on-site project manager. The project manager oversees daily site activity, trade coordination, safety, workmanship, tracks the schedule, budget, documentation, material ordering, communication, and regular project meetings. Each project manager is overseen by our General Manager.
Changes can come from design decisions, material updates, hidden conditions, or new priorities. S+H documents scope and budget changes through a structured process, so homeowners understand what’s changing, why it matters, and how it affects the work before it moves forward.
Yes. S+H has deep experience with older homes, historic restorations, custom renovations, and condominium projects in Greater Boston. These homes often require careful planning around approvals, existing structure, shared systems, access, site protection, and finish coordination.
S+H brings experienced project management, strong field supervision, established trade relationships, clear communication, and careful workmanship to residential construction. We’re especially well-suited to work where planning, coordination, existing conditions, and finish quality all need close attention.
